Summer puts me in the mood to wander, and Prime Day puts me in the mood to shop. Doing both at the same time? Totally possible. The best use of my energy is blending the two by shopping for sneakers that help me wander farther, more comfortably. Right now, Amazon is serving up incredible deals on the cushiest of gym shoes, walking shoes and everything bouncy in between.
I’ve been through enough Prime Days to know a fluff deal when I see one. At Yahoo, we track prices so you don’t have to — we separate the artificially deflated deals from their phonily inflated “regular” prices. And as someone who babies her feet with the best shoes, I know when dubious prices are sneaking up on me — even with the softest soles — and I’ve made it a point to weed those out for you.
From discounted, cushy slip-on Skechers at an all-time-low price to retro-chic Pumas for a cool $50, I’ve picked out sneakers that won’t leave your hooves feeling wrecked and your wallet squeezed dry.

stand-up gal. “I like that I do not have to bend over and tie up my shoes. You actually don’t even need to touch the shoe; you can just put your foot inside, then step down and walk out the door. Doesn’t get any better than that. … and these shoes are very durable and also very supportive on your feet.”
health care worker. “Cute with jeans, shorts or athletic wear. Does not cause discomfort to the top arch! Easy to wash, can even dry without fear of shrinking. Comfortable enough for working as a nurse or traveling to Disney or a Florida boat show!”
happy-footed health care provider. “I need wide toe boxes for my flat feet and bunions. These provide the support, breathability and durability that my fast-paced job requires. I am on my feet for up to 14 hours a day.”
happy shopper. “I have arthritis in my hands and carpal tunnel and let me tell you, I have had other more expensive slip-on shoes but always had to use a finger to pop on the shoe. This one has a nice cushion on the back … that you don’t have to do that. You just slip your feet in very easily and that cushion holds [them] in place.”
relieved ambler. “They are truly comfortable for me, which is huge. The vast majority of my shoes, I have to take out the insole and put my own orthotic in because the arch support just isn’t enough. But somehow, these are good enough for me without needing to do that. They’re also surprisingly cushy. I’m a teacher, and I can wear them all day with no more foot pain than any of my other shoes I wear regularly.”
Dr. Rock G. Positano, a director at the Hospital for Special Surgery’s Joe DiMaggio Heel Pain Center in New York City.
What does he like about these sneakers? “They’re accommodative, meaning they allow the foot and the ankle to move in almost any direction that weight bearing permits.”
Dr. Dana Canuso, who names this pair as one of her favorite kicks when spending hours on your feet. “My most recommended walking shoe is one with a moderate amount of stability, a supportive arch and lots of cushion.”
one enlightened educator. “They are incredibly comfortable. I take over 15,000 steps a day as a teacher, and these bad girls are crushing the shoe game.”
wrote a five-star reviewer. “Super lightweight but also very supportive. My feet don’t hurt at all after work. And they aren’t ugly for comfy shoes either. However, their platforms are pretty tall. You can possibly twist your ankle pretty good if you aren’t sure-footed.”
five-star fan. “I bought them for a conference because I knew I would be walking a lot, and they were awesome. No blisters from walking over 5 miles. I literally wear them all the time.”
